Ed Gurwicz
Ed Gurwicz is the Cofounder of Max Gurwicz & Son, Inc. and continues to be the company's leader and visionary. Born in Poland, he immigrated to the United States in 1949. This former chicken farmer from Vineland, New Jersey served in the Army as an officer and paratrooper in the 1950s. He incorporated Max Gurwicz & Son, Inc. with his father in 1954. Ed's experience in the world of development is truly vast. Between Atlantic County, New Jersey and Trenton, New Jersey, he is responsible for the development of over 1,500 hotel rooms and 3,000 residental housing units. His experience also encompasses the world of commercial property development and operations. Setting the example of a true leader, Ed has made sure to give of his time to several charitable causes. Some of his most noteworthy include his participation on the original development committee of the National Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC., an organization to which he also became one of its charter contributors. Locally, Ed has been a staunch supporter within the Jewish Community of Atlantic County taking leadership roles in many Federation causes and in several area synagogues. He has donated many ambulances to Israel. As a result, Ed has been recognized many times by the American Magen David for Israel. |
Joseph Gurwicz
Joseph Gurwicz heads up all of the company's residential development. His "hands on" approach to overseeing every detail of construction of each unit the company develops ensures that the Gurwicz signature of quality accompanies each home the company sells. With over 20 years experience in the building industry, Joe is the driving force behind the theme and character of every Gurwicz community. Under Joe's watchful eye, he also manages all of the rental communities under the Gurwicz umbrella and leads all of the sales and leasing teams for the active residential projects. Joe is also responsible for land acquisition and new community approval and development. Born in Atlantic City, Joe has local roots that run deep in this community where he continues to work and live. He is affiliated with the Builder's League of South Jersey, holds several operation and development certificates that vary from code enforcement to quality building practice standards, to operation certificates from the NGF. Charity minded, Joe is an executive board member of the Shore Memorial Hospital Health Systems Board. |
Mitchell Gurwicz
Mitchell Gurwicz concentrates on the company's commercial endeavors. Additionally, as a graduate of the Widener University School of Law and a member of the New Jersey and Pennsylvania Bars, he is also the company's in-house counsel. Mitchell's cumulative experience in land use law, real estate and contracts helps guide the company through the many legal facets which accompany each of their projects. In addition to his legal duties, Mitchell spends significant time on Commercial Operations and Leasing, Finances, Contracts, Golf Course Operations, and Large Scale Project Development. Born in Atlantic City, Mitchell follows in the family's established tradition of involvement in the community. Among his professional affiliations, he is a current board member and former president of the Greater Atlantic City Golf Association. His charitable work includes being the current president of the board for Jewish Family Services of Atlantic and Cape May Counties. He has spent many years as a fundraiser and coordinator of several Jewish charities and synagogues. Additionally, Mitchell is involved with one of the region's hospitals as the past chairman and current member of the Shore Medical Center Foundation Board. |
